I wrote 14 songs over the past two years—some are very personal stories drawn from different moments in my life, while others are purely fictional. I wrote all the lyrics and music myself. Due to a lack of time and resources, I decided to produce all the songs on my own, at home, in my artist studio, and in our cabin in the woods—using Audacity, Audio Evolution, and various AI tools for production, mixing, and mastering.

I know some of you have concerns about using AI in music, and I completely understand your point of view. But for a songwriter like me, it’s a powerful and affordable tool. I was able to work independently with almost no borders in my choice of instruments. I used AI more like a co-producer to realize my concrete ideas—and it worked out really well for me.

For me, making music is about telling my own stories. That’s why I don’t use AI to generate lyrics or ask it to “write a love story,” for example. I want to share my own experiences and perspectives in my own voice. AI only comes into play as a supportive tool in the production process—not as the author of my songs. This way, I could truly follow my own vision for these tracks. Audio Evolution and Audacity may be simple tools, but they’re powerful enough to let me arrange and mix all my work. For mastering, I used Matchering 2.0, which did an excellent job.

I also want to acknowledge the importance of professional producers and the fact that many make their living from this work. I deeply respect that. My choice to use AI tools was not meant to devalue their expertise, but simply to give myself the freedom to realize my own songs with the means available to me.
